Since 1978, I have cooperated with my father, Meng
Zhaowu, and successfully finished the invention of the
hybridization between different genera like corn and
hollow-stem crop such as wheat, rice, crop. We solve the
technical difficulties of gamete with no affinity and
female parent’s sterility. We obtained new varieties of
solid-stem crop with big ears and big grains, which
highlights the advantage of hybrid vigor, avoids the
disadvantage of the separation of descendents through
the Three-Series method and causes the non-aging of
planting for many years in wild place. The technique is
not only with high rate of success, but also provide
freedom for the choosing of parents which assures the
quality of hybrid descendents. Meanwhile, with this
invention, we overcame great technical difficulties in
that the distant hybridization of winter wheat can not
meet the flower period, and applied for
patent.
In the same year, we invented sexual hybridization
method of grape. Though generating seedlings, we
obtained high-quality fruits as large as table tennis.
It will not be degenerated through asexual reproduction.
We also solve the problems of dehiscent fruit and
pollination which creates a precedent of asexual
hybridization between fruits artificially after the
variety of natural hybridization of “ Nan Guo Pear”
which was reported in Anshan Daily of September28,
1993.
